Joey Scrivano's excellent adventure comes full circle this week.

The Cambridge product first said hello to tennis ace Zuzana Zemenova in her Slovakian hometown five years ago. He says goodbye to his protege at the conclusion of this week's $25,000 Waterloo Open Women's Challenger -- near his childhood home.

"This is our last hurrah," Scrivano said yesterday at the Waterloo Tennis Club's weeklong International Tennis Federation event, one of only six professional women's tourneys in Canada this year.

Scrivano, the women's tennis coach at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, landed Zemenova on a recruiting trip to Kosice, Slovakia.

After guiding her through four varsity seasons and now through her first three pro tournaments, it's time to bid Zemenova farewell.
