* Baylor is now 64-31 all-time in season openers. The Bears are 7-3 in such contests since the 1990-91 season opener, a 109-81 defeat of Sam Houston State. After downing Eastern Washington 68-61 in last season's opener, Baylor is now 1-0 in such games under Dave Bliss.

* Baylor is now 73-22 all-time in home openers. The Bears are 31-4 in such contests since the 1966-67 home opener, a 104-74 triumph over Texas-Arlington.

* Baylor is now 10-3 all-time in Ferrell Center openers. The facility opened Nov. 29, 1988.

* The Bears improve to 2-0 all-time against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Baylor defeated the Golden Lions 72-45 last year in Waco.

* Baylor head coach Dave Bliss is now 3-0 all-time against UAPB. His New Mexico team defeated Pine Bluff 97-72 in the 1998-99 season.

* The 40 points scored by UAPB is the fewest allowed by a Baylor team since a 43-37 victory Dec. 12, 1958 over Oklahoma State.
