WACO, Texas - Steve Dorneman's pinch-hit single in the bottom of the tenth inning drove home Nolan Leinweber from second to give Baylor a 7-6 win on Sunday and a series sweep over Nebraska.

In the tenth, Kelly Shoppach led off with a lineout to centerfield, but Mike Huggins followed with an infield hit to start the Baylor rally. Matt Williams followed with a ground ball to the right side, but Nebraska second baseman Josh Hesse dropped the ball, putting runners at first and second. Leinweber pinch-ran for Huggins at second, and Dorneman pinch-hit for Chris Durbin. On the first pitch, Dorneman singled through the right side to give Baylor (24-10, 10-5 Big 12) the extra-inning victory.

Nebraska (18-11, 7-8 Big 12) suffered its first series sweep of the year, despite mounting a comeback in the late innings of Sunday's game. Baylor led 6-2 after six innings as Josh Scott held the Huskers at bay. Scott went 6.2 innings, allowing three runs (two earned), but came away with a no-decision.

After Nebraska took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third, Baylor scored four runs in the bottom of the inning, highlighted by Jace Brewer's two-run single and Mike Huggins two-run double. The Huskers answered with a run in the top of the fourth, but Baylor again responded with two more runs for the 6-2 lead after four innings.

In the seventh, Nebraska scored a single run off Scott to knock him out of the game. Justin Taylor came in and ended the inning to prevent further damage. The Nebraska hitters got to Taylor in the eighth, however, pushing one run across and loading the bases before Baylor brought in Zane Carlson (1-1). Carlson allowed a two-run single to Brandt Vlieger, tying the game, but otherwise pitched an effective 2.1 innings for the win. Thom Ott (1-1) took the loss for Nebraska.

The Bears have Monday off before traveling to San Marcos on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. game against Southwest Texas State.
