LUBBOCK, Texas - The Baylor baseball team managed to get a series-high 11 hits on Sunday, but it was not enough as the Bears fell to Texas Tech 10-6 in Lubbock.
With the win, Tech completed a sweep of Baylor, marking the first time the Bears have been swept in three years. Baylor falls to 18-8 on the season, 5-4 in conference play. The Red Raiders improve to 16-13 overall, 5-4 in the league.
Junior lefty Josh Scott (2-2) took the loss for Baylor, giving up six runs on seven hits in just 11/3 innings of work. Freshman Zane Carlson entered the game in the top of the seventh and held Tech scoreless, striking out three and giving up no hits. For the Red Raiders, reliever Blake McGinley (1-0) earned the win.
Baylor will host Mary Hardin-Baylor Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Baylor Ballpark.
