DURHAM, N.C. - The No. 18 Baylor women's tennis team dropped a tough match on the road against No. 11 Duke Saturday, losing 5-4.
Baylor and Duke split the six singles matches, with Baylor winning the Nos. 1, 2, and 3 spots, and Duke taking the latter three spots.
No. 22 Jahnavi Parekh beat 14th ranked Megan Miller in three sets. Katja Kovac, ranked No. 73, upset No. 33 Kathy Sell at the No. 2 spot, also in three sets. Vida Mulec won in the No. 3 position for Baylor in straight sets.
The match came down to doubles, as Duke took two of the three matches for the win. Baylor won the No. 2 spot behind Frida Borjesson and Karin Anderson, but lost at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions as the Blue Devils won their seventh straight dual match.
The Baylor women's team's next action will come April 5 when the Bears host Houston at 1:30 p.m. at the Streich Tennis Courts.
