WACO, Texas - Greg Davis scored a career-high 18 points and Terry Black added 14, but it was not enough to propel Baylor past No. 21 Oklahoma as the Sooners posted a 65-51 victory here Wednesday night. The Bears fall to 13-5 with the loss, 2-5 in Big 12 Conference action. Oklahoma improves to 16-4 and 5-3.

Baylor suffered its worst shooting night of the season, hitting just 14-of-45 shots (31.1 percent). The Bears were also stagnant from behind the 3-point line, connecting on a season-low one shot from long range in 11 attempts.

"We gave a terrific effort on the defensive end," Baylor head coach Dave Bliss said, "but obviously our offense wasn't anything you'd want to write home about. We still did enough on the defensive end, we just didn't get enough on the offensive end."

Despite trailing 31-24 at halftime, the Bears stayed in the game in the first half thanks to 12-of-16 shooting from the free throw line. Baylor struggled from the field in the first, connecting on just 6-of-21 shots (28.6 percent) and missing all eight attempts from 3-point range. Meanwhile, Oklahoma shot 46.2 percent (12-of-26) from the field in the first half and made good on 4-of-9 shots from behind the 3-point line.

Only four Bears scored in the first half, Terry Black led BU with nine points, followed by Logan Kosmalski with seven, Greg Davis with six and DeMarcus Minor with two. J.R. Raymond led all scorers in the opening half with 11.

In the second half, though, Baylor's shooting woes moved from just the field to the charity stripe, as well. Baylor did not score a point until more than three minutes into the half. The Bears made just three of their first 10 attempts from the line in the second half as OU stretched its lead to 16 points by the nine-minute mark.

Oklahoma torched Baylor for 50 percent shooting (12-of-24) from the field in the second half. Kelley Newton, who came off the bench to score 15 points for the Sooners, sank 4-of-5 shots from long range in the second half, including his last four attempts. Nolan Johnson paced Oklahoma for 17 points.

Davis and Black also collected eight and seven rebounds, respectively. Logan Kosmalski chipped in with seven points and five boards. DeMarcus Minor scored four points on the night, snapping his 18-game streak with at least 10 points dating back to last season.

Baylor will return to action Saturday, hosting Texas Tech at 3 p.m. in the Ferrell Center. The game will be broadcast on ESPN-plus as part of the Big 12 Conference television package. Tech (8-9, 2-4) defeated Baylor 68-58 earlier this year in Lubbock.
