BU Women Finish Third at Big 12 Championships

RHODES, Iowa - The Baylor Women's Golf team finished third at the Big 12 conference championships held at the Harvester Golf Course in Rhodes, Iowa

The Bears, ranked 27th nationally by Golfstat, were led by sophomore Melanie Hagewood who finished tied for 11th with 83-77-75 (235).

Rounding out the individual scoring for the Bears are junior Nicole Johnson who tied for 13th place with 82-79-76 (237), Hanna-Sofia Svenningsson took 24th place with a 240 (87-76-77), freshman Michaelyn Morgan finished tied for 25th (85-74-82=241) and junior Tara Bateman finished at 27th place with a 242 (85-79-78).

Maria Boden of Oklahoma State took the first place spot with a three-round 227 (77-78-72), followed by Missouri's Amelia Moses who shot 79-73-75 (227). The two ladies played a sudden death finish.

Oklahoma State took the Big 12 champions title home with a 325-305-295 (925).

The Bears finished in the top 10 of all their tournaments this season, including a victory at the Michigan Fall Invitational in September 2000.
