AMES, Iowa - Seneca Wallace completed a Big 12-record 18 straight passes, including four for touchdowns, as Iowa State beat Baylor 41-0 Saturday.
This was the sixth straight game that the Cyclones scored 30 points or more, a school record. It was the first time Iowa State had won seven straight since 1961.
Wallace completed 22 of 24 passes, including scoring tosses of 19 yards to Lane Danielsen, 29 to Lance Young, 11 to Jack Whitver and 9 to Craig Campbell.
Iowa State finished with 509 total yards, including 330 passing and 179 rushing. Iowa State had been averaging 278.5 yards rushing, to rank fourth nationally. But Baylor had been limiting is opponents to 84 yards a game.
The Cyclones' Ennis Haywood, who entered the game with an average of 163 yards, was held to 71 in 18 attempts.
Josh Zachry passed for 115 yards for the Bears, going 19-of-28 with two interceptions. Zachry, who was forced to scramble several times, led Baylor in rushing with 34 yards in six tries.
Baylor finished with 177 yards passing and 13 rushing, the fewest rushing yards allowed by an Iowa State team since the Cyclones held UNLV to 8 yards in 1999.
It was the first time Iowa State (3-0) had shut out a conference opponent since a 24-0 win over Kansas State in the old Big 8 on Nov. 4, 1978. Baylor has lost 21 straight Big 12 games and the Bears (2-1) have never won a Big 12 road game.
The previous Big 12 consecutive passing record was held by Koy Detmer of Colorado, who hit 14 straight against Colorado State in 1996.
Besides his 299 yards passing, Wallace picked up 58 yards rushing, including one rush of 17 yards.
