WACO, Texas - The 2nd-ranked Baylor men's tennis team advanced to the quarterfinals of the USTA/ITA National Team Indoor Championships with a 4-0 victory over 32nd-ranked Boise State on Thursday evening in the USTA/ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Seattle.

The Bears' Benedikt Dorsch, ranked No. 3 nationally, defeated 41st-ranked Guillame Bouvier in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. Also making quick work of his opponent was freshman Matija Zgaga who defeated Nils Klemann, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4. Fifth-ranked Benjamin Becker, playing at No. 2, clinched the match for Baylor with a win over Matias Silva, 6-3, 6-3. Two other Baylor players were leading in their matches when play was halted. Matias Marin, playing at No. 3, was leading 88th-ranked Thomas Shcoeck, 6-3, 4-3 and 79th-ranked Ivor Lovrak was up 6-3, 5-3 at No. 5 against Mahmoud Rezk. Baylor freshman Adrian Szatmary was trailing 6-2, 3-1 when play was suspended.

Baylor gained their first point of the match with two wins in doubles. The 2003 All-American tandem of Reiner Neurohr and Dorsch posted a 9-7 win over 42nd-ranked Bouvier and Schoeck and BU's Lovrak and Zgaga defeated Silva and Rezk, 8-6.

The Bears, the tournament's second seed, will now face 7th-seeded Mississippi at 7 p.m. (CST) on Friday, Feb. 6. Ole Miss posted a 4-3 win over host Washington on Thursday. Also advancing to the quarterfinals with victories are: Illinois, Duke, Vanderbilt, Stanford, Florida and UCLA.
