Preview: No. 24 VB Heads to Morgantown for WVU Matchup

Bears look for seventh consecutive victory against the Mountaineers

WACO, Texas – 24th-ranked Baylor volleyball (11-6, 3-3 Big 12) is set for a Big 12 road matchup against West Virginia (9-9, 1-4 Big 12) Saturday at 12 p.m. CT inside WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, W.Va.
  
A win would give Baylor seven straight wins over WVU for the first time in program history.
 
Baylor also looks to avoid a three-match Big 12 road losing streak for the first time since the 2014 season.
 
Last season, the Bears swept the regular season series for the third consecutive year under Ryan McGuyre.
 
BEARS TREKS TO MORGANTOWN FOR SATURDAY MATCH
• After a four-set home victory over TCU on Wednesday, Baylor volleyball hits the road to face West Virginia Saturday afternoon in Morgantown.
• Baylor looks for its second conference road win of the season and second-straight victory.
• The Bears are currently 2-3 in road matches in 2018, most recently beating Iowa State on Sept. 22.
• A win would give BU seven consecutive victories over West Virginia for the first time in series history.
• A win would also give BU a 7-0 record against the Mountaineers under head coach Ryan McGuyre.
• A win would also give BU four straight road wins against the Mountaineers.
• BU looks to avoid a three-match Big 12 road losing streak for the first time since the 2014 season. Baylor dropped matches at Kansas, West Virginia and Iowa State during that stretch.
• Last season, the Bears swept the regular season series for the third consecutive year.
 
TEAM NOTABLES
• Baylor went 4-0 to start the season for the first time since 2012.
• Baylor is 1-3 against ranked opponents in 2018. Last season, BU went 4-4.
• BU has held 13 of 17 opponents under a .250 hitting percentage this season.

• BU swept the regular season series for the third consecutive year as the Bears took a 3-0 win in Waco and a 3-1 victory in Morgantown in 2017.
• Baylor has won six in a row against the Mountaineers.
• In Morgantown, the Bears won the first and second sets by a two-point margin while the victory in Waco was no closer than five points in any set.
 
LAST TIME VS. THE MOUNTAINEERS IN MORGANTOWN (Nov. 19, 2017)
• No. 19 Baylor volleyball closed out its regular season road schedule with a 3-1 victory over West Virginia Sunday, Nov. 19, at WVU Coliseum, 27-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-21.
• The Bears closed out Big 12 road action with an impressive 7-1 record and 4-0 during the second half of league play. BU's only Big 12 road loss came at then-No. 5 Texas on Sept. 27.
• Three Bears recorded double-digit kills in the win, led by Big 12 Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week Yossiana Pressley with 14. While Shelly Fanning posted 13 kills, Aniah Philo posted her fourth double-double of the season with 12 kills and a team-high 14 digs.
• With 12 digs in the back row, senior Jana Brusek moved to second all-time in career digs at Baylor, passing Cory Sivertson (1991-94) with 1,586 career digs.
• The Mountaineers outblocked the Bears, 13.0-9.0, and posted a 56-54 dig advantage.
