STORY LINES
• Baylor opens Big 12 play at McLane Stadium against Kansas. The Bears are 8-14 all-time in Big 12 openers dating back to 1996. Baylor has won eight straight meetings with the Jayhawks.
JaMycal Hasty eclipsed 1,000 career rushing yards in the opener, the 38th man in BU history to reach 1K. The junior ranks second in the Big 12 and 12th nationally with five touchdowns through three games.
• With 400 yards against Duke, Baylor has out-gained its opponents offensively in all three games in 2018.
• In the Duke game, Christian Morgan and JaMycal Hasty combined for Baylor's first blocked punt return for a touchdown since Braelon Davis blocked a punt and returned it for a score against North Texas in 2004.
• Baylor has 14 graduates on its 2018 roster, the most in the Big 12 and fifth-largest total nationally.
Charlie Brewer is averaging 267.4 ypg with a 67.2 completion percentage and 12 TD in seven career starts.
• Baylor has had 26 players make their first appearance in a BU jersey this season, including 18 freshmen (8 true).
Matt Rhule coached teams have won 28-straight games when leading entering the 4th quarter.

• Under Matt Rhule, Baylor football has signed 37 players from the state of Texas over the last recruiting cycles, more than any Big 12 or Power 5 team in the country.
• Baylor is playing its 117th season of football. BU holds a 591-569-44 (.509) record all-time.
• Baylor has scored in a school-record 140 straight games — the previous school record was 89 games from Dec. 31, 1979 - Oct. 23, 1987.

KANSAS SERIES HISTORY
• Baylor and Kansas meet for the 18th time in series history on Saturday. The Bears lead the all-time slate 13-4 and have won eight consecutive meetings. The last loss came in 2007 in Lawrence.
• Last season, Baylor defeated Kansas 38-9 in Charlie Brewer's first career start. The Austin native threw for 315 yards on 23-of-29 passing and three touchdowns.
• The Bears held KU without a touchdown in the contest, a first for Baylor in a road Big 12 game (since 1996).
• Baylor is 8-0 in Waco against the Jayhawks. The Bears have out-scored KU 109-21 in two meetings at McLane Stadium.

PLENTY OF BAYLOR DEBUTS IN '18
• After ranking among the top teams in the country to feature freshmen in 2017, Baylor has continued to introduce new players into its lineups in 2018.
• Through three games, Baylor has had 26 players make their first appearances in a Bears' uniform. That total includes eight true freshmen (Kalon Barnes, Josh Fleeks, Connor Galvin, Christoph Henle, Christian Morgan, Tyquan Thornton, Marje Smith and JT Woods).
• Additionally, the Bears have had 10 redshirt freshmen, one sophomore, two juniors, two seniors and three graduate transfers appear in a Baylor uniform for the first time.

BREWER EXCELLENT IN FIRST SEVEN STARTS
• Sophomore quarterback Charlie Brewer has started Baylor's last six games and posted a 3-4 mark in those contests. With Brewer under center, Baylor is averaging 457.4 ypg of total offense over the last seven contests.
• Brewer has passed for 267.4 yards per game with 12 touchdowns and four interceptions. He has completed 67.2 percent of his passes (156-of-232).
• The Austin native have eclipsed 300 yards passing in four of those starts, becoming the fifth player in program history with four games of 300 or more yards passing. He is joined by Bryce Petty, Robert Griffin III, Nick Florence and Seth Russell.

• Preparing Champions for Life is not just a slogan at Baylor and coach Matt Rhule's team is proving it. The 2018 Baylor roster features 14 college graduates including three graduate transfers.
• The list of graduates are as follows: JaMycal Hasty, Jamie Jacobs, Lenoy Jones, Jr., Xavier Jones, Ira Lewis, Josh Malin, Ross Matiscik, Jalan McClendon, Chris Platt, Greg Roberts, Owen Rogers, Derrek Thomas, Verkedric Vaughns, Trevor White.

RHULE TEAMS IN THE FOURTH QUARTER
• In Matt Rhule's five seasons as head coach, he has sealed the deal when leading or tied entering the fourth quarter. In his career, his teams are 19-7 when posting a fourth quarter shutout.
• Rhule-coached teams have won 28 straight games when leading or tied entering the fourth, and are 29-4 overall. All four losses came in his first season as head coach at Temple in 2013.
• When leading entering the fourth quarter, he has won 26 straight games and is 27-3 overall with all three losses coming in 2013 as well.
• Baylor was 1-1 in 2017 when preserving a fourth-quarter shutout. The one victory was the Bears' road win at Kansas and the loss was a near-comeback win against West Virginia at home.
• Over the last three-plus seasons, Matt Rhule coached teams are 14-1 when recording a fourth-quarter shutout. Baylor held Abilene Christian scoreless in the final quarter.
