STORY LINES
• Baylor makes its first road trip of the season when it faces UTSA at the Alamodome at 6 pm Saturday. The Bears fell to UTSA 17-10 at McLane Stadium in 2017. This week's game will be the second-ever meeting.
• Baylor had 13 players make their first appearance in a BU jersey in the opener, including 17 freshmen (7 true).

John Lovett combined for five touchdowns and 217 rushing yards against ACU.
• Hasty eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards for his career, the 38th man in Baylor history to accomplish the feat.

UTSA SERIES HISTORY
• Baylor is facing UTSA for the second time in program history. The Bears came up short 17-10 in the only previous meeting in 2017 at McLane Stadium.
• In 2017, Baylor was held to only 274 yards of total offense and one touchdown.
Denzel Mims caught a 20- yard score from Anu Solomon in the second quarter. Baylor's only other offense was a 20-yard field goal from
Connor Martin.
Clay Johnston had 10 tackles and
Xavier Jones had 1.5 sacks in the loss.
• The Bears hold a 371-229-31 all-time record against current Division I schools in the state of Texas. BU is 68-35-2 against current members of Conference USA.
BEARS' OFFENSE ERUPTS IN OPENER
• Baylor rolled up a staggering 606 yards of total offense while cruising to a 55-27 win against ACU. The Bears totaled 295 rushing yards (best for a Rhule team at BU) and five rushing touchdowns led by 100-yard games from
JaMycal Hasty (102 yds, 2 TD) and
John Lovett (first career, 115 yards, 3 TD).
• Graduate transfer QB
Jalan McClendon made his Baylor debut and hit 10-of-13 passes for 173 yards and two scores while leading five scoring drives.
• Hasty added a team-high four receptions for 67 yards to give him a career-best 169 all-purpose yards. Hasty also eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards for his career, the 38th man in Baylor history to accomplish the feat.

RHULE TEAMS IN THE FOURTH QUARTER
• In
Matt Rhule's five seasons as head coach, he has sealed the deal when leading or tied entering the fourth quarter. In his career, his teams are 19-7 when posting a fourth quarter shutout.
• Rhule-coached teams have won 27 straight games when leading or tied entering the fourth, and are 28-4 overall. All four losses came in his first season as head coach at Temple in 2013.
• When leading entering the fourth quarter, he has won 25 straight games and is 26-3 overall with all three losses coming in 2013 as well.
• Baylor was 1-1 in 2017 when preserving a fourth-quarter shutout. The one victory was the Bears' road win at Kansas and the loss was a near-comeback win against West Virginia at home.
• Over the last three-plus seasons,
Matt Rhule coached teams are 14-1 when recording a fourth-quarter shutout. Baylor held Abilene Christian scoreless in the final quarter.
MULTIPLE TURNOVERS EQUALS WINS

Matt Rhule defenses have forced two or more turnovers in 26 of 63 (41.3%) career games.
• His teams own a 18-8 record with 2+ turnovers forced, and have won 13 of the last 17 when doing so.
• Rhule's teams are 7-0 when forcing 4+ turnovers and 9-3 when creating 3+.

ABUNDANCE OF NFL EXPERIENCE

Matt Rhule's 2012 stint with the New York Giants, there are five coaches on the Baylor staff with 23 years combined experience in the National Football League, sixth-best in the country.
