WACO, Texas – No. 27 Baylor men's tennis is prepped to host Texas Tech on Thursday night at the Hurd Tennis Center before traveling to face BYU in Provo, Utah, at the BYU Outdoor Tennis Courts for the first time in program history.

Coming off a split doubleheader on Sunday where the Bears (16-7 (0-2 Big 12)) fell to No. 34 UCF before dominating Prairie View A&M, BU hits the road for the first time in conference play.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders (8-10 (0-2 Big 12)) come to Waco on Thursday night at 6 p.m. CT for the annual Go Gold match and Senior Night, where head coach Michael Woodson will honor the 2024 senior class of Christopher Frantzen and Tadeas Paroulek.

Both BU and Texas Tech are tied at 32 matches each in the all-time history of the two programs, with Thursday's victor taking sole possession of the lead. The Bears are owners of three straight wins over the West Texas adversaries, all in the Woodson era of the program.

For Texas Tech, Sebastain Abboud and Piotr Pawlak are on a four-match winning streak in doubles with play coming primarily from Court One, while Reed Collier's seven singles wins lead the team, primarily at the No. 2 spot.

Facing off for the first time as conference foes and only the third time overall, BU hits the road to play the BYU Cougars (11-5 (0-2 Big 12)) for the first time ever in Provo after not facing the Cougs in nine seasons at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday evening.

The No. 2 doubles court for BYU holds the team lead in wins, as Jack Barnett and Redd Owen have tallied 10 wins this spring. Zach Fuchs and Owen have each hit the double-digit mark in singles wins, at 10 and 12, respectively.

Baylor boasts the same players that were released in the March 19 edition of the ITA rankings. Paroulek and Zsombor Velcz are 40th in doubles, while singles features Paroulek in 50th, Velcz in 74th and freshman Devin Badenhorst in 88th.

For the match in Waco, live scoring and Playsight cameras are available at BaylorBears.com. BYU is also providing live stats with video from Ocams online. Cracked Racquets will continue their Big 12 CrossCourt Cast, featuring the best matches from across the conference on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
