BAYLOR LADY BEARS
After a 92-41 exhibition victory over Oklahoma City University, Baylor, defending NCAA Division national champions, will take on the Tarleton State University TexAnns in the final of its two exhibition contests. The Lady Bears, 40-0 in 2012, return all five starters to the court this season. Baylor is led by returning All-Americans Brittney Griner, Odyssey Sims and Destiny Williams. Baylor's 2012-13 roster features nine returnees and an impressive cast of newcomers. Griner, averaged 23.2 points and 9.5 rebounds a contest in 2012, Sims, a 5-8 guard, returns after scoring 14.9 an outing and Williams, a 6-1 forward/post, averaged 10.1 points and 9.1 rebounds a year ago. The other two returning starters, guards Kimetria Hayden and Jordan Madden, tallied 9.1 and 4.3 points a game, respectively. Brooklyn Pope, a 6-1 forward/post who graduated in May 2012, came off the bench to average 7.3 points and 5.3 rebounds a contest. Also returning are junior guard Makenzie Robertson and sophomore post Sune Agbuke. Back on the court after utilizing a redshirt season is 6-2 forward/post Mariah Chandler.

Baylor's four freshmen represent one of the program's most talented newcomer groups. The class is led by 6-1 guard Alexis Prince (Orlando, Fla.) who averaged 19.7 points and 7.6 rebounds as a senior. Prince earned McDonald's, WBCA and Parade Magazine All-American honors and was MVP of the McDonald's All-American game. Another Floridian, Niya Johnson (Gainesville) averaged 19.9 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.7 assists a game. The 5-8 point guard was also a McDonald's All-American and was a WBCA All-American honorable mention. Adding height to the lineup is 6-5 post Kristina Higgins from El Paso, Texas. The all-state selection averaged 18.8 points, 11.1 rebounds and 4.4 blocks as a senior. Chardonae Fuqua' (Birmingham, Ala.) excelled in both track (high jump) and basketball at Hoover HS where she helped lead the school to two state basketball championships.

TARLETON STATE UNIVERSITY TEXANNS
Tarleton State, based in nearby Stephenville, Texas, comes to Waco to play its lone exhibition game of the season. The TexAnns posted a 23-9 season last year en route to claiming their first-ever Lone Star Conference (LSC) championship. Tarleton State is picked as the 2013 LSC favorites. Head coach Ronnie Hearne's squad is led by junior guard Peyton Adamson's 13.5 points per game last season. Adamson was named MVP of the 2012 LSC Championships. Also returning is 6-1 junior post Kiara Wright who averaged 12.6 points and 9.6 rebounds a contest. Lorena High School graduate Erin Sims, a 5-11 post, is a freshman of the TexAnn's roster.

Baylor ranked No. 1 in both the Associated Press and USA €ˆToday/ESPN Coaches Polls.

SEASON TICKETS
Baylor has sold a school-record 6,651 women's basketball season tickets thus far. Season tickets for Baylor Lady Bear basketball games are available through the Baylor Athletic Ticket Office at the Ferrell Center or by calling 1-800-BAYLORU or 254-710-1000. SINGLE GAME TICKETS ON SALE
Single-game tickets for the 2012-13 Baylor men's and women's basketball seasons are now on sale through the Baylor Athletics Ticket Office. Fans can purchase single-game or season basketball tickets for the Bears and Lady Bears online at www.BaylorBears.com/tickets, in person at the ticket office inside the Ferrell Center or by phone at 254-710-1000. The ticket office is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. CT.

VS. OKLAHOMA CITY UNIVERSITY
In its first exhibition game, Baylor downed Oklahoma City University, 91-42, in the Ferrell Center. Five Lady Bears tallied double-digit scoring with Brittney Griner and Odyssey Sims leading the way with 16 points each. Brooklyn Pope and Kimetria Hayden each popped in 11 points and freshman Kristina Higgins managed 10. Griner was the squad's leading rebounder with seven and Sims dished out a team-leading seven assists.

INJURED LIST
Freshman guard Alexis Prince is currently sidelined with a stress reaction in her foot. Sophomore post Sune Agbuke recently returned to practice after suffering from a stress reaction.

SHAW CANCELS
On Friday, Shaw University President Dorothy Cowser Yancy cancelled Monday's women's basketball exhibition contest at Baylor, citing injuries and a depleted roster. The Shaw Lady Bears, defending NCAA Division II champions, have six players available to suit up and two of those six are nursing injuries. Tarleton State University agreed to travel to Waco and play Baylor on Monday at 7 p.m.
