THE RUNDOWN
WACO, Texas – No. 2 Baylor volleyball (11-1) made quick work of No. 15 West Virginia (5-5) Friday evening at the Ferrell Center, sweeping the Mountaineers 25-20, 25-14, 25-16 for its 11th-consecutive win.

The Bears hit a season-high .409 as a team, led by senior Yossiana Pressley's errorless performance, in which she hit a mind-boggling .654 with 17 kills, and redshirt sophomore Lauren Harrison's 12-kill, .545 efficiency effort.

BU dominated from start to finish, jumping out to a 10-2 lead in the first behind an Emily Van Slate ace. The Bears took advantage of WVU's sluggish offense, holding the Mountaineers to a .031 percentage in the set and tallying three blocks. Harrison and Pressley each recorded five kills and accounted for Baylor's final three points as BU took a 1-0 lead.

In the second, Campbell Bowden got things going with a 7-0 service run, helped along by a pair of Pressley putaways. The Bears led 13-3 after a sneaky kill by Callie Williams and 22-11 thanks to a Kara McGhee smash. BU had just one error in the set, hitting a massive .652 with 16 kills on 23 swings.

Baylor started fast again in the third, leading 6-2 after McGhee and Pressley teamed up for a double block, part of the Bears' 12 rejections in the match. BU has now collected double-digit blocks in three-straight matches, and four times in the last five outings. A 6-0 run saw the lead swell to 12-4 and Marieke van der Mark picked up one of her five kills at 18-10. Pressley put down another seven kills in the set, including one at 21-14, and Harrison finished it out with two more as the Bears cruised to their 24th-straight victory at the Ferrell Center.

TOP QUOTES
Head coach Ryan McGuyre
On tonight's match…
"Stellar performance from Lauren [Harrison] and Yossi [Pressley], which is awesome. 'Lo' hit .545, only one error on the night, that's incredibly amazing. I don't think you can do any better than that, except Yossi hit .656 [with zero errors] as well. These girls love each other, but if they're trying to outshine each other, they're both so bright and we're going to win a lot of matches that way."
