Possible because of the lead gift of the late Billy Williams and his wife Elaine and the support of the entire Williams family, the Billy W. Williams Golf Practice Facility includes a short-game and two putting greens, seven target greens and four separate tee areas located on 16.5 acres on University Parks Drive adjacent to the Willis Equestrian Center.
The facilities, planning and construction team included golf course architect Chet Williams and Associate Athletics Director of Athletic Facilities and Operations Joe Todaro, who are both Baylor graduates.
A golf course architect, Williams has worked with Jack Nicklaus on several projects and designed the No. 1 course in Texas, Whispering Pines, that has hosted the Big 12 Championships.
An adjoining team clubhouse with locker rooms, offices and meeting space for both teams, was dedicated in November 2018.
This on-campus site provides student-athletes easy access to other services that will improve performance and assist with academic success such as weight rooms, training rooms and academic tutoring in the Simpson Athletics and Academic Center.
The 7,975-square-foot clubhouse features:
- Outdoor training space complete with driving ranges, putting greens, chipping area and simulated holes

- Locker rooms with pro-style lockers for each player
- Lounges for the men's and women's golf teams
- Offices for the coaching staff, each with views of the entire practice site
