CAROL REEVES-BRANDENBURG, Dallas, Texas (Basketball, 1977-80; Softball, 1978-81) – 2006
Baylor’s second full-scholarship female athlete, Reeves-Brandenburg was a two-sport standout in basketball and softball who also followed Suzie Snider Eppers into the Baylor Hall of Fame as a 2006 inductee.
Despite playing basically just two seasons – she injured her knee in the opening game of her sophomore season and then decided to forego her senior season – Reeves-Brandenburg still ranks 14th all-time in program history with 1,394 points. As a freshman in 1977-78, she scored 813 points and helped the Bearettes win a then-school-record 33 games.
In softball, she hit over .400 as a freshman and helped Baylor make it to the regional tournament for the first time in program history. Even after the knee injury, Reeves-Brandenburg played two more years for softball coach Bob Brock and helped the team make back-to-back trips to the AIAW national tournament.
