Massey had a year to remember as a fifth-year senior in 1986. Named Baylor's Outstanding Female Athlete that year, she set school records in the 1,500 (4:16.82), 3,000 (9:22.44) and 5,000 meters (16:15.50) and qualified for the NCAA Championships in all three events.
