Baylor Cross Country Team Competes in Chili Pepper Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Baylor women's cross country team finished fourth place out of 25 teams Saturday at the Chili Pepper Invitational. Baylor men's cross country team landed eighth place.
Kara Newton led the Bears, placing ninth with a time of 21:43. Stephanie Bennett was right behind Newton, taking tenth place with a time of 21:49. Kim Cook came in third for Baylor coming in 25th place with a time of 22:43.
Other Bears competing included: Leah Marbach (41st, 23:09), Erin Dixon (80th, 23:55), Megan McCoin (107th, 24:39), Katherine Duncan (132nd, 25:22) and Hanna Lodwick (136th, 25:30).
Ferenc Beskesi led the Baylor men's, coming in 31st place with a time of 31:25. Other men competing were: Matt Chance (60th, 32:21), Jon Capron (77th, 32:47), Josh Ward (85th, 33:04), Alex Adler (95th, 33:12), and Aaron Ward (144th, 34:52).
Baylor will return to action Oct. 28 at the Big 12 Championships in Boulder, Colo.
