NACOGDOCHES, Texas -
Baylor's men's golf team will kick-off the SFA Crown Colony Classic in Nacogdoches, Texas, amongst a 17-team playing field with a 36-hole outing on Monday, October 16, and an 18-hole final round on Tuesday, October 17.
The Bears are coming off their first win of the season after taking home the Purina Classic title last week in Missouri. Baylor senior Jimmy Walker, who leads the Bears this season with a 72.7 stroke average, also enters this week's tournament on a good note. Walker tied for second in the Purina Classic last week with a 2-under-par performance, his best outing of the season. True freshmen Adam Meyer, who owns a 74.7 stoke average, is riding into the Crown Colony Classic after a scorching 6-under-par final round at last week's tournament.
The Bears look to improve on last year's trip to Crown Colony Classic in which they walked away with a second place finish and three strokes behind last year's champions from Lamar. This year's playing field will include teams from the Southland, Big 12, Southeastern, Western Athletic, Big West Conferences, as well as Rice, Arkansas-Little Rock, and Oral Roberts.
The teams will play a practice round Sunday, October 15, and begin the tournament on Monday with a shotgun start at approximately 7:45 a.m. The final round on Tuesday is scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m. on both the first and 10th tees.
