Walker Tops Leader Board In Men's Golf Purina Classic

ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Senior Jimmy Walker is tied atop the leader board and Baylor's team stands in third place after two rounds Monday at the Purina Classic men's golf tournament in St. Charles, Mo.
Walker (71-68=139) is tied for the lead at 3-under with Tulsa's David Inglis, Kansas' Travis Hurst, and host school Missouri's Mark McBride and Chris Happ.
Making his collegiate debut, Baylor true freshman Will Doughtie (75-70=145) shot a 1-under-par 70 in the second round and stands tied for 22nd.
The Bears trail host Missouri (570) by six shots, and No. 2 Kansas (572) by four strokes. Tulsa and Michigan (578) are tied at No. 4.
Senior Brandon Sanders (72-75=147) and Sophomore Trevar Matheson (74-73=147) both shot a two-round 147, and are tied at No. 33, to give the Bears four players in top 35 in the field of 84.
Rounding out the Bears' scoring is true freshman Adam Meyer (79-73=152) who carded a 152 on the day and stands in a tie for 62nd.
The third and final round will take place Tuesday at the par 71, 7,047-yard Missouri Bluffs Golf Club in St. Charles, Mo.
