Lamar Leads First Round Of Henry Griffitts Baylor Invitational

WACO, Texas - Lamar University's men's golf team shot a first-round score of 284 and owns a one-shot lead over the field after Day One of the third annual Henry Griffitts Baylor Invitational in Waco, Texas.
Second round play was not completed and will be continued Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. CST at Ridgewood Country Club. The third and final round will begin at 8 a.m. as scheduled.
The Cardinals, led by a Joe Kunick who shot a one-under par 70, finished the first round with a one-stroke lead over four schools tied at 285, Arkansas-Little Rock, Mississippi, Southeastern Louisiana and Texas A&M.
Iowa State's Jamie Faidley stands as the individual leader through one round after shooting a three-under par 67. Tied for second are Baylor's Jimmy Walker and Texas A&M's Duke Butler (68).
For the host Bears, Walker leads the way followed by senior Worth Williams who stands tied at 25th with a two-over par 72. Rounding out Baylor's scoring through one round are freshmen Adam Meyer, who stands in tie for 43rd (74), Brandon Sanders at 54th (75), and sophomore Garrett Froggatte, tied at 69th (76).
Ridgewood is a 6,419-yard, par 70 course situated near Lake Waco.
