WACO, Texas - Baylor baseball coach Steve Smith announced Thursday that Arizona second baseman Trevor Mote will transfer to Baylor and will be eligible for the 2001 season.
Mote, a switch-hitter from Kingman, Ariz., started 45 games for the Wildcats, hitting .345 with 14 doubles, four home runs and 27 RBI. The 6-1, 185 pound senior also registered a .949 fielding percentage.
"Trevor is a switch-hitting infielder who could play at second or third. I'm very pleased that we were able to get someone with Trevor's experience and ability. Hopefully, he will help us fill in for some of the losses we incurred through the professional draft," Smith said.
