Fitzgerald Named First-Team All-Region

WACO, Texas - Baylor centerfielder Naomi Fitzgerald was named to the Midwest Regional softball team it was announced Friday.
The junior from College Grove, Tenn. was named to the first-team for the first time in her career. She ranks among the nation's and Big 12's leaders in hitting this season at .411. As the Bears' leadoff hitter she has an on base percentage of .439 and a slugging percentage of .470. She is a three-year starter in centerfield who committed only three errors in 63 chances this season for a .952 fielding average. Her honors this season include: first team all-region, first team All-Big 12, first team Academic All-Big 12, GTE Academic All-District, Big 12 Player of the Week,and all-tournament at the NIST Tournament.
