Papp Named Region VI Rookie of the Year

WACO, Texas - Baylor men's tennis' Zoltan Papp was named the Region VI Rookie Player of the Year by the ITA on Tuesday.

Papp earned the honor by compiling a 20-5 record to date, including a perfect 8-0 record in conference. He joined the team in January and immediately claimed a spot in the line-up.

For Papp, this honor will be added to his all-Big 12 singles selection, his Big 12 No. 4 Singles Championship, and his Big 12 Freshman of the Year awards. By winning the Region VI Rookie Player of the Year award, Papp is automatically nominated for the national rookie of the year award, which will be announced at the NCAA Championships in Athens, Ga.
