BOSTON - Baylor and Boston College played on a warm afternoon in Chestnut Hill, Mass., a suburb of Boston.
The Bears wore all-white uniforms with the traditional gold helmets. BC is wearing scarlet jerseys over gold pants with gold helmets.
A crowd of 39,756 arrived in Alumni Stadium. The playing surface was artificial. Game-time temperature was 83 degrees with 81 percent humidity. A 7-mph wind blew out of the southeast.
Boston College won the toss and deferred. Baylor received the kick-off and defended the north goal.
Junior strong safety Samir Al-Amin's first quarter punt block was the first of his career.
Senior Kyle Atteberry's first quarter field goal was his first since his freshman season when he kicked four. He has only punted the past two seasons.
Senior Elijah Burkins' second quarter 46 yard reception from Jermaine Alfred was the longest of his career, previous long was five.
Sophomore wide receiver Andra Fuller's 27 yard reception in the second quarter was the longest of his career, previous long was 13. He added a 73 yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter. He tallied a career-high 121 yards receiving.
Redshirt freshman wide receiver Lanny O'Steen tallied his first career touchdown when he recovered Melvin Barnett's fumble in the endzone in the second quarter.
Junior linebacker McKinley Bowie's 83 yard touchdown interception was the first interception of his career. It ranks seventh on Baylor's longest interception return list.
The last time a Baylor player returned an interception for a TD was on Nov. 14, 1998 when Clifton Rubin scored on an 18 yard interception against Oklahoma in Waco.
Kyle Atteberry's PAT was blocked after Bowie's touchdown interception. The last time an opponent blocked a Baylor PAT was Nov. 11, 1995 vs. Rice in Waco.
Last season the defensive line knocked down four passes for the season, this game they batted down three in the first half and added another one late in the fourth quarter.
