Women's Tennis Defeats SMU

WACO, Texas - The Baylor women's tennis team defeated the SMU Mustangs, 8-1 to bring their record to 4-0.
SMU's Dee Dee Herring defeated No. 17 Jahnavi Parekh in a 7-5, 6-4 match at number one singles. The No. 40 Katja Kovac defeated Patricia Ubeda Siaz, 6-2, 6-4, in the number two singles slot. Karin Andersson defeated SMU's Katie Pruett, 6-2, 7-6 (1), at number three singles. Freshman Vida Mulec defeated SMU's Lindsey Bruce at number four singles, 6-3, 6-2. At number four Frida Borjesson beat Sara Love Swaney, 6-0, 6-2, and Freshman Monica Gonzalez took the sixth singles match against Alissa Scott, 6-3, 6-0.
The Bears were undefeated in doubles play. Kovac and Mulec defeated Bruce and Ubeda Diaz in a 8-6 match at first doubles. Andersson and Borjesson defeated Herring and Pruett, 8-2, and Parekh and Gonzalez defeated Swaney and Scott, 8-3.
The Bears play at Missouri on February the 18th at 3 p.m.
