The Baylor football team continued preseason drills with the first set of full-contact practices on Saturday.

"We made too many mistakes today, but the effort and intensity were there and the corrections will be made," said Baylor head coach Kevin Steele. "We put in a substantial blitz package that threw the offense off a bit. We also put in more of the passing game, which limits the amount of protections you can use."

During the afternoon practice session, the team continued to work on new plays.

"After practice, I challenged them to study the game of football in the classroom and in our meetings," Steele said. "The classroom is for mental work and teaching and the practice field is for action."

The Bears will take to the practice field again Sunday for a single workout at 3:45 p.m.
