Women's Tennis Team Named All-Academic

WACO, Texas - The Baylor women's tennis team was named to the national All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for the 1999-2000 season.
The Bears earned the honor for earning a team grade point average of 3.26. The Baylor women were thus honored for the fifth year in a row, which matches the team's streak of five consecutive NCAA appearances.
The women's tennis team ranked 19th in the nation in the final ITA polls, thanks to a 22-5 overall record. After placing second in the Big 12 Conference, Baylor won its NCAA first round match but lost to Texas in the second round. Senior Jahnavi Parekh led the Baylor women as she earned the program's first all-America honor.
