Waco, Texas - After practicing for over two hours in full gear Thursday morning, Baylor capped the day with a spirited, 90-minute afternoon practice that featured situational scrimmage conditions.
"This morning we practiced in full pads and had a full schedule and the players responded by practicing hard and getting things accomplished," Head Coach Kevin Steele said. "We continue to correct the previous day's mistakes, which is key.
"The really positive thing is that we came out this afternoon is shorts and shoulder pads and had a non-contact, NFL-style scrimmage atmosphere. We got a lot of work done in a short period of time."
The Bears concentrated on its two-minute offense and defense and on third-down blitz situations during the afternoon workout.
Baylor conducts another round of two-a-day practices Friday before its second scrimmage of the fall, Saturday night at Fanfest. Fanfest begins at 4:30 p.m. at Floyd Casey Stadium.
The Bears open the season Aug. 31 with a 7 p.m. game at North Texas.
