Waco, Texas - Despite the customary distractions that come with the first day of classes, Baylor Head Football Coach Kevin Steele was pleased with the way his Bears took care of their business Monday afternoon during a 90-minute workout in full gear.
"We had a very focused practice," Steele said. "With 10 days to go before our first game, we can't afford to waste a moment.
"The first day of classes is traditionally a disappointing day for practice because there are so many new distractions, but the players really responded with a spirited workout today. We got a lot accomplished."
Baylor concluded nearly two weeks worth of two-a-day practices last Friday. Monday's workout began the Bears regular-season routine of afternoon practices.
The Bears open the season Aug. 31 with a 7 p.m. game at North Texas.
