NORMAN, Okla. - The No. 24 Baylor Bears opened their weekend road trip with a 2-1 victory over the University of Oklahoma. The Bears improved their overall record to 10-5 and moved to 4-3 in the Big XII. Oklahoma fell to 2-11-1 on the season and 1-6 in Big XII play.
After playing a scoreless first half, sophomore defender Rachel Kacsmaryk gave Baylor a 1-0 advantage with an unassisted goal in the 51st minute. The Sooners struck back 12 minutes later to tie the game at 1- 1, but junior defender Gina Castellano came away with the game-winning-goal in the 84th minute. Kacsmaryk was credited with the assist.
Baylor goalkeeper Dawn Greathouse collected her seventh win of the season while tallying six saves. Oklahoma had nine.
Sunday the Bears will play Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla. at 1 p.m.
