Men's Golfers In Ninth At Inaugural Inverness Invitational

Baylor's men's golf team stands in ninth place after rounds of 299 and 304 Monday at the inaugural Inverness Intercollegiate Invitational in Toledo, Ohio.
The Bears have been paced by newcomers Trevar Matheson and Adam Meyer. Matheson, a sophomore transfer from Odessa Junior College, shot rounds of 72 and 77 Monday. Meyer, a true freshman from Waco Covenant High School, carded a 73 and 76. The pair stands in a 17th-place tie individually at 149 through two rounds.
The Bears are 26 strokes behind the University of South Carolina, which leads the field with a two-round 577. South Carolina is followed by Kansas (590), UCLA (597), Colorado and TCU (599).
Other individuals for Baylor include: seniors Jimmy Walker (tied at 27th, 77-74=151), Worth Williams (tied at 39th, 77-77=154) and Brandon Sanders (58th, 79-82=161).
The Inverness, hosted by the University of Toledo, concludes Tuesday with 18 holes. The invitational is held at the 7,250-yard, 71-par The Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.
