Men's Golfers Finish 11th At Inverness Invitational

Baylor's men's golf team shot a final-round 310 Tuesday to finish 11th at the inaugural Inverness Intercollegiate Invitational in Toledo, Ohio.
South Carolina bested the field of 13, shooting a three-round 876 at the 7,250-yard, 71-par The Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. USC was followed by Oklahoma (896), TCU (898), Kansas (899) and UAB (900). Baylor finished with a three-round 913, and host school Toledo finished 12th.
The Bears were led individually by senior Jimmy Walker, who shot a third-round 73 Tuesday to finish tied at 13th with a 224 (77-74-73=224). Newcomer Trevar Matheson, a transfer from Odessa Junior College, finished 19th after firing a final-round 76 (72-77-76=225).
Rounding out the Baylor individuals were freshman Adam Meyer from Waco (tied at 27th, 73-76-79=228), senior Worth Williams (53rd, 77-77-82=236) and senior Brandon Sanders (63rd, 79-82-82=243).
The Bears next competition is Oct. 9, when they travel to Columbia, Mo., to participate in the Missouri Invitational.
