Waco, Texas - In what is proving to be their best showing in an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southwest Regional, Baylor's women's tennis team has advanced three singles players and a doubles team to the quarterfinals.

In the tournament hosted by TCU, seniors Katja Kovac and Frida Borjesson and junior Vida Mulec all remain undefeated in the singles draw to advance to the quarterfinals. In doubles, Kovac and Mulec, the tournament's top-seeded team, advanced to the quarterfinals also.

Kovac and Mulec will face the team of Leah Killen and Martina Nedorostova of Texas A&M, seeded No. 8. In singles, Borjesson will take on top-seeded Vladka Uhlirova of Texas while Mulec, seeded fifth, faces Houston's Sarah Borwell, seeded No. 3. Katja Kovac, seeded No. 2, defeated teammate Patricia Graf and will play TCU's Leoni Weirich, a 32 seed.

"This is the best we've ever performed in a regional competition," head coach Dave Luedtke said. "It's the first time we've ever had three in the quarterfinals. It was a very solid second day for us. They were very focused today."
