WACO, Texas - The Baylor baseball team wrapped up its annual Fall Championship Series with the Green and Gold teams knotted at three games apiece.

Jared Theodorakos was the pitching star of the series. The junior lefty won two games for the Gold team, striking out 14 in 11 innings pitched and allowing just four hits and one run.

Junior catcher Paul Richmond recorded 10 hits in 19 at-bats to lead all players in batting average (.526). Richmond had two doubles, a home run and four RBI to go with his team-leading average.

Sophomore outfielder David Murphy led all Bears with eight RBI. Other top hitters included Tim Hartshorn (.333, two doubles), Mike Huggins (.300, one double, one triple, four RBI), Jared Clements (.300, one double, three RBI) and Chris Durbin (two doubles, one triple, one home run, six RBI).

The Baylor baseball team kicks off the 2002 season Feb. 5 at home against Southwest Texas. First pitch at Baylor Ballpark is set for 6 p.m.
