San Diego - Katja Kovac and Frida Borjesson each lost in Flight A singles matches on Friday in San Diego State's Fall Classic.

Kovac, ranked No. 25 and the tournament's top-seed, was upset by Heather Polumbus of the University of San Diego (USD) 6-2, 6-2. Borjesson lost to San Diego State's Katja Karrento 6-1, 6-3. Kovac will face Pepperdine's Aleksandra Kujawska while Borjesson will take on Anna Anderson, also of Pepperdine, on Saturday in the consolation bracket. In Flight A doubles action Dasha Potapova and Paola Stephen lost their match to Keyman and Kujawska of Pepperdine 8-3. Borjesson and freshman Patricia Graf posted an impressive victory in doubles over the 39th ranked team of USD's Polumbus and Arrongoiz 8-6.
