Kovac Loses in First Round of National Tennis Tournament

Waco, Texas - The No. 44 nationally ranked Katja Kovac lost her first round tennis match at the Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships at the Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas on Thursday.
Kovac, a senior and one of only 32 players to qualify for the tournament, lost to Wake Forest's Bea Bielik, who ranks 3rd nationally, in two sets, 6-0, 6-4.
She will faceTulsa's Aleksandra Durska in the consolation bracket at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
