WACO, Texas - Baylor football player Adam Stiles has been invited to play in the annual Blue-Gray Classic it was announced this week. Stiles will join fellow teammate Jon Erickson who was previously invited to participate in the all-star game on Tues., Dec. 25.
Stiles, a senior punter and placekicker from Wichita, Kan., finished second in the Big 12 and 11th in the nation with a 44.11-yard punting average in 2001. He placed 14 of his 65 punts inside the opponent's 20-yard line and recorded a career-long 59-yard punt at Iowa State. Stiles concluded his career at Baylor ranked eighth on both the career punts (151) and punt yardage (6,336) lists.
Also a long distance field goal kicker for the Bears, Stiles hit 7-of-12 attempts this year, including a career-long 50-yarder at Texas A&M and a pair of 47-yard attempts.
The 63rd annual Blue-Gray Classic features the top senior players from around the nation. The game will be played on Christmas Day in Mobile, Ala. ABC will cover the live broadcast.
