#17 Baylor (6-2, 1-0) vs. Iowa State (1-2, 0-1)

After going 2-1 in the squad's first-ever appearance at the USTA/ITA Women's National Team Indoor Championships, the 17th-ranked Baylor women's tennis team continues play Monday afternoon as the Bears host Iowa State at 1 p.m. at the Marrs McLean Tennis Courts.
The Cyclones began the weekend with a 1-2 overall record, including a loss in their only Big 12 match of the season. Iowa State played Sunday morning at Texas Tech before traveling to Waco.
Baylor beat Iowa State 8-1 last season in Ames. The Bears are coming off wins against No. 8 UCLA and No. 21 Washington. Baylor will look to extend its 14-match home winning streak Monday.
Team notes:
* The team's current No. 17 ranking is the program's highest ever. The Bears have ranked no lower than No. 19 since March 29, 2000.
* Since entering the Big 12, the Baylor women are 45-7 at home. The Bears have won 14 in a row at home, dating back to April 13, 1999, when they lost to then-No. 17 Arkansas, 6-3.
* Baylor has won five straight season openers, dating back to 1996.

Head Coach Dave Luedtke: 179-123 in his 14th season, all at Baylor... Earned his 175th career win vs. Missouri (2/3).
Karin Andersson: Ranks fourth in school history in career singles wins (81), two wins out of third place... Ranks fourth in program history in career doubles wins (63), three behind second-place Julie Hamilton and Rachel Forney.
Frida Borjesson: Has won a season-high four straight singles matches twice this year (10/28-11/4, 1/28-2/5).
Katja Kovac: Won a career-high 11 straight matches (10/28-2/1) before losing to then-No. 1 Laura Granville of Stanford in the second round of the Rolex Indoors. The 11-match streak tied for sixth-best in school history... Is tied with Melissa Castro for second in school history in career singles wins (83), nine wins behind all-time leader Rachel Forney... Named preseason all-Big 12 in singles... Currently holds the highest ranking of her career at No. 19 (2/12).
Vida Mulec: Re-entered the ITA singles rankings in December at a career-high No. 41... Top win this season came against then-No. 33 Kristy Dascoli of Ohio State (9/23)... Named preseason all-Big 12 in singles.
Jahnavi Parekh: Began the spring ranked No. 18 in the nation in singles... Holds sixth place in school history for career wins (76), three wins behind fifth-place Hortensia Hernandez... Named preseason all-Big 12 in singles... Was 1-2 at the Rolex Indoors.
Doubles notes:
* Baylor's No. 1 team of Katja Kovac and Vida Mulec was named preseason all-Big 12.
* Long-time doubles partners Karin Andersson and Frida Borjesson won their first five matches of the year, tying the team's career-high win streak.
* The team of Alison Bradley and Monica Gonzalez made its first appearance in the ITA rankings (2/12) at No. 43.
