WACO - Trevor Mote went 3-for-4 with two RBI and the Baylor baseball team whipped UT-San Antonio for the second time this season, winning 14-3 Tuesday night at Baylor Ballpark.

The 16th-ranked Bears (16-6) got to Roadrunner starter Kevin Carrejo (1-1) early, jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning when Baylor catcher Kelly Shoppach ripped a two-RBI single to center field, extending his hitting streak to 13 games. Matt Williams' double down the left field line in the second scored two, pushing the lead to 7-0, and the Bears never looked back.

Chris Durbin's third inning single to center field scored Nolan Leinweber and Trevor Mote, extending the Bear lead to 9-0.

That was more than enough for Baylor starter Jared Theodorakos (4-1), who threw five solid innings, giving up just three hits. His only blemish was a three-run homer he yielded in the fourth inning.

Baylor totaled 13 hits, with the first four batters of the lineup going a combined 10-for-16 with eight RBI and eight runs.

Right handers Justin Taylor, Cody Hall, Scott Lehnhoff and Paul Thorp relieved Theodorakos, each throwing one complete inning.

For the Bears, it was the ninth time they've managed to score at least ten runs this season and the second time against UTSA (11-14). The teams' other meeting this season was won by Baylor, 13-2, in San Antonio.

Baylor will remain at home this weekend for a three-game series with Oklahoma. First pitch for Friday's series opener is scheduled for 7 p.m.
