WACO, Texas - The Baylor football team resumed spring drills with a spirited, full-contact practice at the Waco ISD Stadium Wednesday afternoon.
Throughout the two-hour session, defense was the name of the game. The Baylor defense was effective at stopping the run all afternoon, and also halted the passing game. Sophomore Bobby Hart came up with a big interception, while teammate Kyle Staudt picked off a pass a few series later.
"That's the bad part of practice," said head coach Kevin Steele. "If you're an offensive coach, you feel bad and you know you need to come out with a little more zip. If you're a defensive coach, you're pretty happy with yourself."
A bright spot for the offense was a nifty touchdown reception for redshirt freshman Marques Roberts.
Baylor will take to the practice field again Friday at 4 p.m. before scrimmaging on Saturday at 10 a.m.
