WACO, Texas - Amidst strong winds and cold temperatures, the Baylor football team conducted a productive two-hour, full-contact scrimmage Saturday morning.

"I think we played with a lot of fire and spark today," said Baylor head coach Kevin Steele. "Both sides of the ball did their jobs and we played well on both sides of the ball."

Offensively, the Bears' passing game was effective against the second-team defense. Quarterback Greg Cicero completed a pair of touchdown passes to Marques Roberts and Reggie Newhouse.

On the defensive side of the ball, sophomore linebacker John Garrett gave the offense problems with two interceptions, including one that he ran back for a touchdown.

Baylor resumes practice Monday at 4 p.m. The Bears will conclude spring drills the annual Green & Gold Game Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m.
