Waco, Texas - Baylor spent nearly two-and-a-half hours on the football practice field Wednesday in a fast-paced workout that featured nearly every facet of the game.

"We covered a lot of areas today - everything from two-minute drill to kick coverage," head coach Kevin Steele said. "Our focus and effort was good, but our execution needs to be better, especially on offense."

With just two more spring practices left, the Bear coaching staff is forming initial observations on where the team stands heading into summer conditioning.

"Our first-team defense is vastly better than our second-team unit," Steele said Wednesday, "so we obviously need to improve our depth there."

Baylor practices again Thursday before conducting the annual Green-Gold Game Saturday at 1 p.m.
