WACO, Texas - Baylor women's tennis ace Jahnavi Parekh has been added to the group of 64 players selected for the NCAA singles tournament.
Parekh, an all-American in 2000, was inadvertently left off the list of selections released by the NCAA Thursday. She has ranked no lower than 37th this season and was ranked as high as 13th during the fall.
"We're glad they got this fixed," Baylor head coach Dave Luedtke said. "Jahnavi definitely deserved to be in."
Parekh joins junior Katja Kovac in the singles tournament. Kovac and Parekh will team to participate in the NCAA doubles tournament.
The women's singles and doubles tournaments begin May 21 in Stone Mountain, Ga., following the team championships.
