Waco, Texas - Baylor football coach Kevin Steele welcomed 25 newcomers to campus Tuesday. The Bears third-year coach counted 20 incoming scholarship players and five invited walk-ons among his new crop of rookies.
"This time of year is always exciting," Steele said. "We look bigger and stronger, and I know we're faster. It's an impressive looking group."
The new Bears have a full schedule of orientation meetings planned for Wednesday before taking to the practice field Thursday and Friday for two-a-day workouts. Baylor's veterans report Friday, with the first day of full-squad practices slated for Monday.
