Baylor Baseball Among Nation's Leaders in Attendance

WACO, Texas - The Baylor baseball program finished the 2001 season ninth in the nation in average home attendance, according to numbers released recently by the NCAA.
In 33 home dates, 92,672 fans came through the turnstiles at Baylor Ballpark, an average of 2,808 fans per game. That average ranked ninth in the country and third in the Big 12 Conference, behind Texas A&M (third) and Texas (fourth).
The Bears' total home attendance was the 13th highest total in the nation for 2001, again finishing third in the conference behind the Longhorns (third) and Aggies (fourth).
Baylor begins the 2002 season at home Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. against Southwest Texas.
