Box Score

IOWA CITY, Iowa - Sunday's game felt all too familiar for the Baylor soccer team; the Bears lost their third straight game and second overtime game of the weekend Sunday, falling to Iowa 1-0 in overtime.

Baylor (7-9-2) lost for the eighth time in 11 games and continued a seven-game winless streak that includes two ties. Playing in 40-degree weather and a steady rain beginning in the second half, Iowa (9-7-1) pushed across the only score of the day at 103:45 mark for the victory.

The Hawkeye goal spoiled another excellent outing by Baylor goalkeeper Monica Housden. The junior transfer held Iowa scoreless until the sudden death goal, making five saves.

Senior forward Sarah Lynch, playing in her final home game as a Hawkeye, recorded the game-winning goal. Lynch powered a shot into the lower left hand corner of the net for the goal, assisted by senior Jamie Jorgensen and sophomore Katelyn Quinn.

Sophomore Ginny Rosario-Tull missed her first start of the year, but came off the bench to record two shots. Sunday's game snapped a streak of 27 straight games started by Rosario-Tull; she has appeared in every game and missed only two starts during her two seasons at Baylor.

Senior Tamura Crawley, meanwhile, did start, and in so doing moved into a tie for ninth place on the Baylor career chart for most games played. Crawley tied Alyson Miles (1998-2001) with 77 career games played.

The Bears will conclude the 2002 season Friday in Lubbock with a 1 p.m. game against Texas Tech.
