WACO, Texas - Baylor's tennis programs were well represented in the recently released Omni Hotels Collegiate Fall Regional Tennis Rankings. Matt Knoll's men's team placed five players in the regional rankings and Joey Scrivano's Lady Bears had three players ranked regionally.

Three Bears were ranked amongst the top six and two more checked in above 18th. Newcomer Benedikt Dorsch holds down the top spot in the South Central Region. This honor comes on the heels of his performance in the Omni Hotels National Indoor Tournament where he won the championship. With the victory, Dorsch, a sophomore from Weiden, Germany, became the first Baylor tennis player to win a national championship. He finished the fall season with a 22-1 record. Sophomore Benjamin Becker is ranked No. 3. The Orscholz, Germany native, who earned All-American honors last season, was 8-4 in fall action. Senior Zoltan Papp (Budapest, Hungary) checks in at No. 6 with a 10-5 record. Junior Matias Marin (Rosario, Argentina) and freshman Ivor Lovark (Zagreb, Croatia) complete Baylor's regionally ranked players at No. 12 and 17, respectively. In addition, Becker and Papp are ranked No. 6 regionally in doubles.

Vida Mulec (Maribor, Slovenia), the Lady Bears' lone senior, is listed No. 2 in the Southwest Region. The two-time All-Big 12 selection finished the fall campaign with an 8-5 record. Stephanie Balzert and Daria Potapova were ranked regionally as well. Balzert, a freshman from Puttlingen, Germany, is No. 18 with an 8-4 record and Potapova, a sophomore from Valencia, Spain, is No. 22. Blazert and Mulec are ranked ninth in doubles.
