WACO, Texas - Baylor's men's golf team will compete in the 17th-annual Louisiana Classics Monday and Tuesday, March 11-12, at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette, La.
The tournament boasts a competitive 15-team field that includes six Big 12 teams. In addition to host Louisiana-Lafayette, the field includes: Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado, Kansas, Memphis, Missouri, North Texas, Rice, SMU, Southern Mississippi, Texas A&M, Texas-San Antonio, Texas Tech and Tulsa.
The format of the Classics consists of 54 holes beginning with two rounds of 18 holes Monday beginning at 7:30 a.m. CST, and a final round Tuesday beginning at 7:30 a.m. Oakbourne is a 7,002-yard, par 72 course.
Tennessee won the 2001 Louisiana Classics, which was shortened to two rounds due to weather.
In Baylor's last outing, the Bears won the 11-team Udamon Southwest Classic by an 11-stroke margin. Baylor has earned two team titles in 2001-2002, and has won four of its last eight tournaments played. Additionally, Baylor has boasted the individual medallist in each of its last three tournaments.
